R. Christine Brown
Attorney at Law

Planning for your future and navigating family changes can be complex. That’s why R. Christine Brown founded South Bay Elder Law in 2002. Her mission is to provide personalized legal guidance to local residents to protect their loved ones, their wishes, and their legacy.

As a mom of two young adults, a wife, and a small business owner herself, Christine understands the challenges of juggling family responsibilities and important life decisions.

Christine’s practice focuses exclusively on elder law, including estate planning, probates, conservatorships (general and limited), special needs trusts, and trust administration. With her deep experience in these areas, she offers practical solutions for individuals and families at all stages of life.

Christine received her bachelor’s degree from U.C. Santa Barbara and is a 1992 graduate of the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She is a former partner in the law firm of Popeney, Lebetsamer & Brown, LLP.

Christine is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the South Bay Bar Probate and Estate Planning Section, and other community organizations concerned with the needs of older adults. An active member of her community and the State Bar, she volunteers regularly at various Superior Court Probate Departments, assisting the public with legal issues. She is also regularly appointed by the court as Court Appointed Counsel to represent elderly or developmentally disabled adults who are the subject of a conservatorship petition and works regularly with California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform (“CANHR”)
